Ford Mustang India debut at 2016 Auto Expo

The 6th generation Ford Mustang was officially unveiled in 2014 as a part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. Lighter and stiffer with a spacious cabin and a host of upgrades as compared to its earlier counterpart, the new Ford Mustang boasts of independent front and rear suspension, high performance brakes and 19” alloy wheels.

Its exteriors are seen with HID headlamps, puddle lamps clearly projecting the Mustang logo while interiors receive 2.8” touchscreen, ambient lighting and four driving modes. The dash is dominated by leather material in contrasting stitching while steering wheel is smaller in diameter but sport a host of buttons and controls that include audio system, Bluetooth to TrackApps and instrument cluster display.

For international markets, the new Ford Mustang is powered by three engine options that include a 2.3 liter four cylinder EcoBoost engine offering 306 bhp power, a 3.7 liter V 6 engine capable of 296 bhp power and a 5.0 liter V8 engine with 437 bhp power.

India will receive the 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine offering 400 bhp power and 542 Nm torque. It will be mated with a 6 speed automatic transmission. India-spec Ford Mustang can reach electronically limited top-speed of 250 kmph while acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph can be achieved in 4 seconds.

Though internationally, Ford sells the Mustang with a drop top, the model in India will be a hard top version with it will be brought into the country via the CBU route.
