Ford will be officially launching the new Mustang today in India. Offered with three engine option – a 2.3 liter four cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine offering 306 bhp peak power, a 3.7 liter V6 engine offering 296 bhp power and a 5.0 liter V8 engine capable of 429 bhp power. Of the three, India will only get the top of the line 5.0 liter supercharged V8 variant.
Offered in two body types – Coupe and Cabriolet, the Ford Mustang will be seen with a lower and wider stance. Rood height will be reduced while rear fenders are wider. Sleek in appearance, the Mustang gets a steeply sloped windshield and rear glass while three dimensional, tri bar tail lamps with sequential turn signals are also to be seen.
Abounding in safety features, the new Mustang will receive independent rear suspension, HID headlamp unit with LEDs and dual zone HVAC system. It will also get Blind Spot Information System, Cross-Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control. Rain Sensing Wipers, Dual Front Airbags and Curtain and Knee bags will also be among its safety features.
Infotainment and onboard instrumentation is in the form of a 4 gauge instrument cluster with chrome accents and a multifunction steering wheel. The Mustang will sport a 4.2 inch multi-information display on its instrument cluster while it will get a 390 Watt Shaker Pro Audio System which will only be offered as options on some models. The audio system will include an AM/FM stereo, single CD/MP3 player, 12 speakers and an 8” sub woofer.
