Ford Mustang GT spied at BIC ahead of India launch tomorrow

The new Ford Mustang GT which is going to be launched tomorrow in India has been spotted at Buddh International Circuit (BIC). The CBU sportscar will be positioned as the brand’s halo model in India.

Into its sixth generation, the iconic American pony car is now accessible by more audience across the globe as this is the first time it’s made available in RHD configuration.

The Mustang nameplate which is made popular by Hollywood flicks like Bullit and Gone in 60 Seconds has been enjoying a huge fan following across the globe including India. The launch of the latest iteration is expected to further enhance its appeal in the country.

The Mustang for India will be available only in the range-topping GT avatar. The sharp-looking Ford packs a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine which packs 401 PS and 515 Nm of torque. The motor produces marginally less power compared to the UK-spec RHD Mustang. Probably a result of slightly different homologation process in India.

The motor drives the rear wheels via a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The powertrain offers normal, snow/wet, sport and track driving modes.
