Honda Car India continues to report a negative growth in sales for yet another month. For the month of November 2016, Honda has registered sales of 8,029 units as against 14,712 units which were sold in November 2015. This is a massive decline of 44%. Exports for Nov 16 stood at 697 units.
Though the company did not reveal any specific reason for decline, the reason we can guess is the launch of new cars in the segment which has taken the share away from Honda. For example, Honda City has been dethroned by Maruti Ciaz as the No 1 selling car in the segment.
Ford domestic sales posted decline once again. Ford India registered sales of 6,876 units last month as against 8,416 units sold in November 2015. This is a decline of 18.3%. EcoSport continued to be the company’s best-selling car. Exports continued to outperform domestic demand. Ford India exported 14,128 cars last month as against 8,416 units exported in November 2015.
Tata Motors registered cumulative (passenger + commercial + exports) sales of 38,900 units in Nov 2016, as against 38,918 units sold in Nov 2015. This is a marginal decline.
Speaking about their passenger car segment, thanks to the new Tiago, the company continues to post positive sales growth. For Nov 2016, Tata sold 12,736 units as against 10,470 units sold last year same month. This is a 22% growth in sales.
Thanks to Kwid, Renault continues to post impressive sales growth. For November 2016 Renault India sales stood at 9,604 units as against 7,819 units sold in Nov 2015.
