New spy shots emerge of the new Maruti WagonR 7 seat variant which is based on the Suzuki Solio on sale in Japan. This draws attention to its exterior design as well as interiors.

As per reports, Maruti Suzuki plans to launch 5 seater and 7 seater versions of the new WagonR, which has been one of the best selling cars in India for many years now.

The Maruti WagonR 7 seater seen on test featured a much taller design than the current WagonR. It also sported a spoiler on the roof and a shark fin antenna. It will be seen with sliding doors for easy ingress and egress of passengers.

Interiors are seen in a in a 5+2 seating arrangement. It also gets features such as touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls and a well designed cabin. Dual airbags, ABS, automatic AC, etc will also be on offer.

Speaking about engine options, the seven seater Maruti WagonR will only come with a petrol engine option. It will most likely get the same 1.2 liter petrol engine which is also seen on the Swift. This engine is rated at 82 hp and 113 Nm.

In India, it will be positioned below the Ertiga and will be smaller than the Ertiga. 2018 WagonR 7 seater will compete against the Datsun Go+ and the upcoming Renault RBC small MPV.
