Gary Paffett (THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) at 103 points at Nurburgring after 6th 2012 season DTM race

Gary Paffett retained his championship lead at the Sunday races at Nurburgring. Jamie Green – Mercedes AMG C Coupe stood in fourth place while the winner of the race was Bruno Spengler – BMW. Gary Paffett – Thomas SABO Mercedes AMG C Coupe currently retains his hold on championship lead of 20 points after the sixth of ten races and moved up from 11th on the grid by five positions to finish sixthth. Bruno Spengler is 20 points behind while Green is in third place on 81 points.

Though Thomas SABO/ Mercedes Benz Bank AMG are currently at 127 points, Mercedes Benz is still ahead on constructor’s table at 237 points. Edoardo Mortara and Mike Rockenfeller are at present the best placed Audi racers in standings. Four A5 DTM cars secured points last weekend making Audi the strongest brand in top ten.

89,000 spectators were present at Nurburgring which saw ideal weather conditions to enable them to enjoy the events to the fullest. Eduardo Mortara of Audi Sport Team Rosberg in an Audi A5 DTM took to the grid in 2nd position and ended the race as the runner up, behind Bruno Spengler. The seventh round of DTM season will be held next weekend at the Dutch North Sea Coast.

On the sixth Sunday of the season at the Nürburgring, Jamie Green (Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) took fourth place. The race was won by Bruno Spengler (BMW).

Gary Paffett (THOMAS SABO Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) finished sixth and still has a comfortable lead in the championship – he has advanced to 103 points, twenty ahead of his nearest challenger Bruno Spengler (BMW). Green is in third place on 81 points. THOMAS SABO / Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG are currently ahead in the team standings on 127 points. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz still tops the constructor’s table on 237 points.

DTM rookie Robert Wickens (stern Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) secured P7, his best result to date in the world’s most popular touring car series. His previous best result was ninth at the last race at the Norisring. Ralf Schumacher (Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) finished his 50th DTM race in 13th position. Christian Vietoris (Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Coupé) and Susie Wolff (TV Spielfilm Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) came home in positions 16 and 17 respectively. David Coulthard (DHL Paket Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) was 20th. Roberto Merhi (Junge Sterne Mercedes AMG C-Coupé) had to retire.

A total of 89,000 spectators attended the DTM race weekend (Fri, Sat, and Sun) at the Nürburgring.
