Gemopai Electric, a joint venture between Delhi-based Goreen E-Mobility and China-based Opai, has launched the new Astrid Lite electric scooter in India and Nepal. The scooter will go on sale across 50+ company dealers from early October and will carry a price tag of Rs.79,999.
Gemopai Astrid Lite is offered in five colour options of Eclectic Neon, Deep Indigo, Fiery Red, Burnt Charcoal and Fireball Orange. It will get three drive modes of Sport, City and Economy and could command a drive range of 75-90 km per charge. One can also double the ride range to 150-180 kms with an extra battery pack.
In Sports Mode, the Astrid Lite offers more power to the scooter to reach a top speed of 75 kmph and a climbing angle of 18 degrees. City Mode, as its name suggests, is for every day city travel, through city roads and under urban traffic conditions. In Economy Mode, the Astrid Lite presents better efficiency and a maximum range of 90 kms per charge.
Along with its attractive colour range, the on board features include an LED color display, LED headlamp and DRLs. The scooter is fitted with a safety grille and features also include a USB port so that riders can charge their smartphones while on the go.
Astrid Lite sits on 10” tubeless tyres. The range of safety features also includes a side stand sensor, anti theft sensor and Electronic Assist Brake System.
Astrid Lite is powered by a removable lithium-ion battery pack of 1.7 kW. The scooter also has a motor rated at 2,400W and offers peak performance at 4000W. The battery weighs a total of 8.5 kgs allowing for easy removal and charging via a home or office socket. Braking is via disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear while it gets hydraulic suspension.
Ideally suited as a perfect city scooter, the Astrid Lite exudes style with its attractive color palate. It gets an innovative range of features and promises outstanding performance.
Opened for bookings from 9th September, the Astrid Lite will be available at Gemopai dealerships both in India and Nepal and each of these 50+ dealerships will also take care of after sale service. The Gemopai Astrid Lite will compete with electric scooters from Hero Electric, Okinawa, etc in India.
