Gemopai electric scooters launched in Pune – 50 dealerships in Maharashtra by Q2 2020

Aiming to provide an affordable means of mobility to the youth and the city’s vibrant population, electric scooter manufacturer Gemopai Electric has launched its first showroom in Pune. Named M/s Electric Bike, the dealership is located at BSC 12, Suraj Prakash Co-op Housing Society Ltd, Market Yard Road. The dealer will be hosting the entire range of Gemopai electric scooters and providing end-to-end after sales services including regular servicing, maintenance, accidental repairs and sale of spare parts.

Delhi-based Gemopai Electric is a joint venture between Goreen E-Mobility and Opai Electric. The company was founded in 2016 by Amit Raj Singh & Bhanu Kumar. For the uninitiated, it is worth mentioning that Opai Electric is one of the largest manufacturers of electric vehicles in the world.

Opai has more than 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing advanced electric 2-wheelers. Till date, the company has sold more than 15 million electric scooters and motorcycles across Asia, Europe and Americas.

Gemopai electric scooters

Opai Electric currently sells four EURO certified models across Europe and Latin America. The company holds 25 patents globally for its electric vehicles. Its global portfolio comprises 70 certified electric scooters and motorcycles and 3 electric car models. In the joint venture, Gemopai will be carrying out extensive R&D work in collaboration with Opai to develop new models that will suit Indian conditions.

Keeping a lean product portfolio, Gemopai is currently offering two electric scooters, Ryder and Astrid Lite. Equipped with a 250 watt motor that gets its power from a 48w/20Ah lithium ion battery, Ryder can travel 70 km on a single charge. Customers can choose from five colour options and a wide variety of accessories.

The second scooter Astrid Lite is powered by a 1.7kw lithium ion battery and offers three ride modes of Sports, City and Economy. It’s range is between 75 to 90 km. Customers opting for a dual battery setup can increase the range to 150 – 180 km. Five trendy colour options are available to customers.

Both electric scooters have LED headlights with DRLs, digital speedometer, front disc and rear drum brakes, and hydraulic suspension at both ends. They are ARAI and EURO certified and come with a 2-year warranty on the battery pack.

Gemopai has already established a wide network of more than 50 dealerships across India and Nepal. The company’s focus on providing top quality products along with dedicated after sales services has helped the brand to become a preferred choice for customers in electric two-wheeler segment. In Maharashtra, the company has aims to setup more than 50 dealerships in the coming years.
