Driving lessons in The Netherlands

The Government of Netherlands has made it legal for driving instructors to offer driving lessons in return for sex, provided the student is over the age of 18.

Strange but true, the Government of The Netherlands has legalized sex as payment, in return for driving lessons. This new law is labeled as ‘ride for a ride’, and has sparked off a debate among the citizens.

The Sex for Driving Lessons issue was tabled at the Parliament by Gert-Jan Segers of the socially conservative Christian Union party while Transport minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen and Justice Minister Ard van der Steur addressed the issue.

A letter written to Parliament, ministers stated that it was not about offering sex for remuneration but for a driving lesson while focus lies on the driving instructor imparting driving lessons with payment received in the form of sexual acts.

In The Netherlands, prostitution is legal. Here, prostitutes are treated as self employed people. They are forced to declare income from such sources as it is taxed. Making it legal for driving instructors to offer lessons in return for sex is on condition that the student is over the age of 18.
