Chevrolet Cruze catches fire in Delhi, GM India announces offers for December
While the driver realised he was in trouble, the central locking system kept him locked in before being helped him out before the car was engulfed in flames. He was first alerted when others on the road told him of fire in the bonnet, and was teh lone passenger in the sedan at the time incident. It’s yet to be determined what caused fire in the diesel Chevrolet Cruze.
General Motors has also been carrying out a Cruze recall in India. There’s no formal statement, and neither are dealerships are addressing recall calls in the negative. Rather, they’re calling those concerned to replace the PVC bracket that encases wiring in the engine bay.
General Motors India has introduced special offers through December (Rs 55,000- 85,500) on all carlines except Captiva SUV. This includes cash discount, exchange bonus, loyalty bonus and corporate discounts. Benefits for Chevrolet Enjoy stand at Rs 85,000, Beat at up to Rs 83,000, all new Sail sedan and hatchback at up to Rs 55,000, Chevrolet Tavera at up to Rs 55,000, Chevrolet Cruze up to Rs 60,000 and Spark up to Rs 68,000.
This week, General Motors India inaugurated a new 3S dealership, Arihant Chevrolet in Aurangabad, Maharashtra reaching 31 sales outlets and 33 service facilities in the state. In India, GM has 255 sales points and 272 service outlets.
Arvind Saxena, President & Managing Director, GM India says the dealership will cater to increasing popularity of Chevrolet vehicles in Maharashtra. In November 2014, General Motors India sold 4,157 vehicles down from 6,214 units sold in Nov 2013. This includes 150 Beat units exported to Chile. The showroom is located in Jalna Road, CIDCO, while the service station is located in Chikalthana MIDC Area in Aurangabad. It’s headed by Rahul Mishrikotkar and Dhaval Mishrikotkar.
