Government steps in for Haryana transporters strike resolution
Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) met the Chief Minister of Haryana, and is thankful to him and his team for swift action that resulted in resolving the issue, working on a methodology to be adopted to convert vehicles to the CMVR approved dimensions.
SIAM, a representative of vehicle manufacturers is committed to following regulations implemented by Government, and supports strict compliance by all concerned. SIAM will support, supplement and partner Government efforts to ensure transport fleet comply with prescribed norms.
SIAM thanks and appreciates the CM’s help in resolution of the strike, which began as Haryana government refused to renew fitness certificates for vehicles retrofitted with extra space to carry additional two-wheelers. Conforming to standard designs has also been contended. The region houses Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycles and Suzuki operations, alongside auto ancillaries. For compliancy, trucker associations are requesting 2 years, as changes can’t be made in a short time.
