Harley Davidson India has also announced exciting discount offers for Street 750, to boost sales
In view of the challenges arising from corona virus pandemic, auto companies are coming up with new strategies and plan of action. One of these is home delivery of vehicles, which has currently become a norm in the industry. Leading premium motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson has adopted the same strategy and will be providing home delivery service to its customers.
Harley-Davidson India will home deliver its motorcycles for free if the delivery address is within 40 km range. People living in cities will benefit, as the distance from dealership to the delivery address is unlikely to exceed 40 km.
Harley has more than two dozen dealerships spread across most parts of India. Home deliveries that are beyond the 40 km range will be available, but these will be charged extra for every additional kilometre beyond the free 40 km. Customers can check with their dealer to know the exact charges applicable.
Harley also has online tools for its customers such as scheduling a test ride and applying for finance. Harley-Davidson offers specialized finance schemes for its customers, which can be availed for both new and pre-owned motorcycles. Harley’s finance scheme makes it easier for customers to buy their dream motorcycle. It comes with unique features such as personalized EMI options, competitive interest rates and extended contract tenure.
As of now, Harley-Davidson India has not provided the option to buy its motorcycles online. Customers who wish to buy a Harley can explore the models on the company’s website and then approach a dealer to enquire about availability and purchase options. In the next step, things like documentation and other formalities will probably require a visit to the dealership.
Home delivery option is available only for a limited period. Harley has allowed its dealerships to follow their own schedule of operations based on recent government orders and restrictions that may have been imposed in the area. Customers are advised to first call the dealerships to know about their hours of operation.
To flatten the Covid-19 curve, Harley has requested its customers to follow the prescribed guidelines as provided by local authorities. The company has also decided that it will not participate in any racing and motorcycling events till things get back to normal.
In other customer related initiatives, Harley-Davidson India has extended the timeline for warranty claims. A 30-day extension has been provided to customers whose warranties may have expired during the lockdown period. The company has also extended the maintenance schedule by 60 days. This is available to eligible customers under HDFS (Harley-Davidson Financial Services).
