In keeping with current market situations, Harley Davidson has been facing diminishing sales in India over the past few months. Sales in the first quarter of this year dipped substantially while the situation in the present quarter also does not pose any positive results.
To counter these low sales, dealers are extending hefty discounts, and finance options. One such well thought of offer package extends to five of its models on sale in the country. These include Street 750, Street Rod, Street Bob, Fat Bob, and Fat Boy. As per details, the Street 750 are MY 2018 vehicles. The rest are 2017 models. These are dealership demo bikes, which have been put up on sale and discounts range from Rs 1.08 lakhs to Rs 3.67 lakhs.
2018 Street 750 which is priced at Rs.6.85 lakhs is being presented at a discount of 1.08 lakhs, taking final pricing to Rs.5.76 lakhs of which the company is offering finance of Rs.5.48 lakhs with a down payment of Rs.28,466.
EMIs over the 36 months of 60 month period stands at Rs.17,811 or Rs.11.779 respectively. The 2017 model of Street Rod in a V Black color scheme is priced at Rs.8.12 lakhs which now carries a discount of Rs.1.30 lakhs making pricing at Rs.6.81 lakhs. With down payment of Rs.31,770, this model is also presented with a 36/60 month EMI period.
Discounts on the 2017 Street Bob extend upto Rs.2.53 lakhs on its price tag of Rs.15.72 lakhs making discounted price at Rs.13.19 lakhs while the discounts on 2017 Fat Bob and Fat Boy are at Rs.2.93 and Rs.3.67 respectively. These two model are now priced at Rs.15.12 and Rs.18.65 with finance options and easy EMI payment facilities spread over a period of 36/60 months.
US based Harley Davidson Motor Co is actively working on plans that revolve around production of 250-500cc motorcycles for emerging markets. Since fully built imported motorcycles attract a 50 percent customs duty, building them in Asia could help the company’s cause in this part of the world. While Harley-Davidson offers a 500cc Street globally, in India the company’s smallest cc offering is the 750cc Street. The 500cc segment sees Royal Enfield seated in a plump position with no competition.
