Hero Electric scooter offer

Offer is valid from 13 – 31,August 2020. Despite an ongoing Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Hero Electric reports record high sales through online channels without visiting a Hero dealership. The current scheme is designed to attract more customers into the fold, and shift to electric mobility. Ambitious about its expansion plans for the remainder of the year, Hero Electric is eyeing record sales despite current economic conditions in FY21.

With customer response being positive, the campaign is catered for progressive prospects looking for value for money. Home charging facility for portable batteries puts to rest any range anxiety one may have, while ensuring adequate physical distancing by eliminating the need to step into fuel station. The company says, riding a Hero E bike for 5 years is equivalent to planting 10 full grown trees. For the current period, YTD FY21, Hero Electric leads the high speed scooter segment with 37 percent market share.

Electric scooter and battery cost

When it comes to battery charging, proposed changes in the electric vehicle market could bring about renewed interest in electric scooters and two-wheelers. A recent policy change allows for vehicle price to be listed without the cost of a battery pack factored in. This would reduce upfront electric scooter cost, and users can opt for the convenience of battery swaps at charging stations.

This will further reduce drive range inhibition that folks harbour, and offer added flexibility in terms of staying charged. In time, the added cost of a home charger could also be done away once a depending charging and battery swap network is established. While the directive to separate battery and scooter cost sounds promising, implementation will be a far cry until a nationwide charging infra is tried and tested.

Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said, “We keep hearing from some of our Customers, particularly those who switch from the petrol bikes to Hero E-bikes that they were initially a bit skeptical but soon got so much used to the comfort and convenience of the Hero E bikes that they feel a great peace of mind and a unique sense of freedom . They feel liberated from the worries of daily expenses of petrol, frequent visits to service stations and the increased maintenance expenses as the bikes grows old.”
