Hero Maestro Edge 125 price increased ahead of Honda Activa FI launch

Hero Maestro Edge 125, launched in India in May 2019, is offered in three variants. Launch price of the Maestro Edge 125 Drum variant was at Rs.58,500 while the disc variant was priced at Rs.60,000 and top of the line Fi trim carried a price tag of Rs.62,700. This is the first ever FI scooter variant of India

Just two months after launch, the company has announced an upward revision in prices by Rs.500 across all three variants. This now makes the Maestro Edge 125 base Drum variant cost Rs.59,000, the Disc variant at Rs.60,500 and the Fi variant at Rs.63,200. The company has not revealed any particular reason for this price hike but it could be due to higher input costs.

2019 Hero Maestro Edge comes in with a digital / analog meter, external fuel hub, LED tail lamp, a mobile charging port and sits on diamond cut cast wheels. Its on board features also include a side stand indicator, remote key opening and service due reminder along with a boot lamp.

The scooter rides on 12” front and 10” rear wheels and finished in 4 matte colour options of Blue, Brown, Grey and Red, along with two color options of Panther Black and Fadeless White for its Fi version.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 gets its power via a 125cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine that also powers the Destini scooter. This engine offers 8.5 bhp power and 10.2 Nm torque mated to a CVT Unit. Suspension is via telescopic forks in the front and spring loaded hydraulic dampers at the rear.

Braking is handled through disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear and Integrated Braking System is offered as standard. Like all Hero’s commuter bikes, the Maestro Edge 125 also gets the company’s i3S start-stop system for higher fuel efficiency.

2019 Hero Maestro Edge 125 which rival the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia, Aprilia SR 125. It targets a younger segment of buyers in the country. Price hike comes at a time when rival Honda is getting ready to launch their first FI scooter with BS6. New Honda Activa FI BS6 scooter will launch in Sep 2019.

Hero MotoCorp has reported a 12.49 percent dip in sales in June 2019. Sales which stood at 7,04,562 units in June 2018 dipped to 6,16,526 units in the past month. However, despite these lower sales, the company still managed to notch up sales above the 6 lakh unit mark for the second consecutive month after sales in May 2019 which stood at 6,52,028 units.
