Hero Maestro FI vs Honda Activa vs Suzuki Access – 125 cc scooter comparison

Hero MotoCorp surely dominates the commuter motorcycle segment, but its performance in scooter segment is not as good as its motorcycles. They have a lot to catch up. With that in mind, the company has launched two new products – Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Pleasure Plus.

While the former has a sporty profile, especially designed for young buyers, the latter is targeted at women customers. Here we compare Hero Maestro Edge 125 with rivals to understand which scooter offers the best value. Hero Maestro FI vs Honda Activa vs Suzuki Access.

Engine: All three scooters are powered by 125 cc engines and their power and torque output are almost same. However, there may be some differences in engine response and acceleration time. Hero Maestro Edge 125 borrows its engine from Destini 125, a 124.6 cc, air cooled, single cylinder, Energy Boost engine that generates 8.70 bhp power at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. In comparison, Honda Activa 125 is powered by a 124.9 cc fan cooled, 4 stroke, SI Engine that makes 8.52 bhp @ 6500 rpm and 10.54 Nm @ 5000 rpm. Suzuki Access 125 gets its power from a 124 cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air cooled engine that generates 8.58 bhp @ 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm @ 5000 rpm.

Features: Excluding a few exceptions, all three scooters are almost neck and neck in terms of features. Hero Maestro Edge 125 comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster and patented i3S start stop system for improved mileage. Other key features include USB charging, side stand indicator and boot light. Honda Activa 125 also has semi-digital instrument cluster with eco speed indicator.

Other key features include 4-in-1 lock with seat opening switch, service due indicator, and mobile charging socket. Suzuki Access 125 has a new digital meter that comes with dual trip meter and oil change indicator. Other key features include one-push central lock system, front pocket, large storage space, and DC socket. All three bikes offer Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard.

Price: Hero Maestro Edge 125 is priced in the range of Rs 58,500 to Rs 62,700. In comparison, Honda Activa 125 is priced in the range of Rs 60,347 to Rs 64,733, whereas Suzuki Access 125 retails in the range of Rs 55,977 to Rs 60,188.
