During this period, Hero sold 257,322 units of scooters as against TVS’ tally of 187,151 units. Over the course of first 11 months of this fiscal (April 2015 to February 2016), Hero managed to sell 731,967 units while TVS clocked 707,884 units.

Coming back to Hero Motocorp, the company is hoping that the Duet and Maestro Edge, both based on the company’s maiden homegrown scooter platform, would continue to drive growth in the next fiscal as well. Hero’s current scooter production capacity of 1 lakh units per month would be expanded to accommodate the sales growth.
