Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Dash 110 coming in next two months

In a bid to take advantage of positive buyer sentiment during the festive season, Hero Motocorp is getting ready to launch two new scooters in the next two months. Ravi Sud, Chief Financial Officer of the company, confirmed this during his recent interaction with PTI.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 is most likely to be the production version of Dare 125 concept pictured here.

We expect the two new scooters in question to be Hero Dash and Dare which were previewed last year in the form of production ready concepts. Dash is likely to be marketed as Duet or Specter while Dare may adopt Maestro Edge 125 nameplate. Both automatic contenders are aimed at enhancing the market share in a segment which is being dominated by Honda.

Hero Dash (Duet/Specter) which was recently spied testing with minimal camouflage is expected to be powered by the new 111 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which was previewed last year. Mated to a CVT, the motor produces 8.44 bhp and 9.4 Nm of torque. The scooter will go head on against venerable Honda Activa and is estimated to be priced at INR 55,000 (ex-showroom).

Hero Dash 110 could be branded as Duet or Specter.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 (Dare) is a flagship scooter which aims to crack the 125 cc automatic scooter segment with its sporty character. The edgy scooter is compact and equipped with upmarket elements like alloy wheels, apron-mounted clear lens headlamps and turn signals, front disc brake and dual-tone color theme. The 124.6 cc motor is good for a healthy 9.4 bhp and 9.8 Nm of torque when mated to a CVT. The scooter will have its top speed in the excess of 100 kmph.

Hero Motocorp would be hoping that the introduction of Maestro Edge 110 and Dare 125 would help unseat TVS as the second largest scooter seller in the country.
