Hero MotoCorp sells 1.1 million two wheelers during Oct-Nov 2012

World’s largest two wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has revealed that during the festive season of 2012, they have sold 11 lakh (1.1 million) two wheelers in India. In a statement revealed by Hero MotoCorp, they said that during the month of October and November 2012, they registered an increase of 7%, compared to last year.

At the start of this month, Hero MotoCorp had stated that during the first 15 days of 2012 festive season, they had delivered over 3.50 lakh two wheelers. At that time, Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice-President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp Ltd said, “Our October story is about touching new milestones – highest-ever October sales, over half-a-lakh of scooter sales and retail of over 3.50 lakh units of two-wheelers in just 15 days of the festival period. The entire range of our new Hero-branded models, including the new launches – Maestro and Ignitor – has been lapped up by our customers, which is reflected in these numbers.”

On 11th Nov 2012, on the auspicious day of Dhanteras, Hero sold over 1 lakh two wheelers. Earlier yesterday, Mr Dua said, “Our retail sales in the festive months of October and November crossed 11 lakh units earlier this week. This represents a seven per cent growth over the same period last year. By the time the month of November is over, we would have retailed even higher volumes, further adding to this tally.

“This current momentum has given us the hope for a positive turnaround in the two-wheeler industry. However, December being the last month of the year when retail off-take remains sluggish, we are restricting our despatch sales in November. Having said that, we  would still be despatching almost five lakh two-wheelers this month. Going forward, therefore, we remain cautiously optimistic for the rest of the fiscal.” he added.
