Hero MotoCorp has increased prices of their 110cc Pleasure Plus and 125 cc Destini scooter
Even though the two-wheeler segment continues to be adversely impacted by Covid-19 pandemic, Hero MotoCorp has increased prices of its Pleasure Plus and Destini 125 scooters. As may be recalled, other manufacturers have also increased prices of their two-wheelers in recent months.
MoM sales have actually improved for several two-wheeler models since the lockdown was lifted. Coupled with the fact that sales may witness an uptick during the festive season, this may be the right time to increase prices.
Pleasure Plus price hike
In case of Pleasure Plus, prices of sheet metal wheel and alloy wheel models have been increased by Rs 1,300 each. Revised prices are Rs 56,100 and Rs 58,100, respectively. In spite of the price hike, the scooter is still a lot cheaper than its main rival, Honda Activa 6G.
Targeted primarily at women buyers, Pleasure Plus was launched last year in May. The BS4 model came at a starting price of Rs 47,300. The scooter was updated to BS6 earlier this year in January. BS6 Pleasure Plus features an attractive design with chrome accents on the front, headlamp and sides.
Powering the scooter is a 110.9 cc air cooled, FI engine that churns out 8 bhp of max power and 8.7 Nm of max torque. It is mated to a dry automatic centrifugal clutch. Some of the key features include retro styled headlamp, analogue speedometer, LED boot lamp, side stand indicator, mobile charging port, utility box and sporty tail lamp. Pleasure Plus is available in a range of trendy colour options.
Pleasure Plus BS6 also comes with the promise of improved performance via a range of sensors installed in the scooter. Some key benefits include torque on demand, smoother rides, enhanced durability & safety, improved engine life, better uphill climb, all-weather easy start and higher fuel economy.
Destini 125 price hike
Destini 125 BS6 was launched earlier this year in February. Its primary rival is the top selling Honda Activa. Destini 125 new prices are Rs 65,810 for sheet metal wheels variant and Rs 68,600 for alloy wheels variant. In effect, prices have been increased by Rs 500 each.
Powering Destini 125 is a 124.6 cc air cooled FI engine that makes 9 bhp / 10.4 Nm. It is mated to a dry centrifugal automatic clutch. Some key features of Destini BS6 include chrome brow, LED guide lamps, always-on headlamp, premium dual seat, body coloured rear view mirrors, snazzy tail lamp, external fuel filling, telescopic front suspension, and integrated braking.
