Hero MotoCorp had shut down all production operations from August 15-18, in view of the holidays extending from Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan to the weekend but also in view of the prevailing market scenario. In a bid to boost scooter sales, the company has announced a ‘Hero Scooter Grand Carnival’.
This initiative is introduced just ahead of the festive season and is extended from 16th August to 14th September on the company’s entire range of scooters. This scheme is also in view of the company having noted reduced sales in July 2019 which dipped 21.18 percent to 5,35,810 units as compared to 6,79,862 units sold in the same month of the previous year.
Buyers of a new Hero scooter will now be able to avail special benefits. This list includes a down payment of Rs.999, low rate of interest at 6.99 percent and service offers along with 2X Good Life benefits and PayTM benefits upto Rs. 8,500.
This ‘Hero Scooter Grand Carnival’ offer is on the company’s entire range of scooters that consist of the Duet, Destini 125, Pleasure and Pleasure+ along with the Maestro Edge, Maestro Edge 125 and Maestro Edge 125 Fi.
It was also in August that the company introduced a price hike across its entire portfolio. Prices were increased by 1 percent on all products with the company citing increased input costs.
The company also introduced a two wheeler exchange scheme under which buyers of a new scooter could exchange their old scooters and avail a discount. The scooters would be assessed by authorized personnel and along with deducting the amount of the older vehicle, the buyers could get a further discount of Rs.4,500 as exchange bonus.
Hero MotoCorp has also initiated a home delivery service for their two wheelers. This would entail an added cost of Rs.395 over the on-road price of the vehicle. This service is limited to Mumbai, Noida and Bengaluru as on date but could soon be expanded to other cities as well.
