Splendor Pro Classic is now listed in product portfolio in Hero MotoCorp’s website where specs, features, colours and photos are shared but price tab is empty. But it is reported that price of Splendor Pro Classic is Rs. 53,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). Price of range topping variant of Splendor Pro – DRUM SELF CAST – SE (Long Seat) is Rs. 47,750 (ex-Delhi), which means Classic version is expensive by more than Rs. 6,000.
The newcomer joins as third member in Cafe Racer community with Royal Enfield Continental GT535 and Triumph Thruxton. Last two are incomparable by any other means with Splendor Pro Classic as they are hugely powerful and very expensive. Continental GT535 is priced at Rs. 1.89 lakhs and Thruxton at Rs. 6.67 lakhs (ex-Delhi).
Prominent features of Pro Classic version of Splendor include Classic round headlight, sporty handlebar, classic speedometer, classic chrome finish front fender, vintage style body graphics, Cafe Racer styling with single seat, vintage style Cafe cowl, round turn indicators with orange lens and round tail lights.
Hero Splendor Pro Classic is powered by same 97.2cc single cylinder air cooled engine doing duty in Splendor Pro, but marginally up-tuned to produce 8.36 PS maximum power @ 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm peak torque @ 5,000 rpm; mated to same 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.. Compression ratio of engine in Classic is increased to 9.9:1 compared to 9.0:1 in Splendor Pro.
Rest of parameters / features like fuel tank capacity, suspension components, brake, wheels, tires, and the like are same in Classic as in Pro model. But there is slight difference in vital dimensions; height of Classic is slightly less by 20 mm, meaning seat height could also be reduced, and ground clearance is increased by 21 mm, while wheelbase remains same at 1,230 mm. Weight of new retro style Splendor is lesser by 3 kg compared to top end Splendor Pro.
