Hero Splendor, Passion and HF Deluxe sales cross 50 lakh units in FY 2015

Of the three, it is for the first time that Hero HF Deluxe sales have crossed the 1 million mark in a single fiscal year.

Hero Splendor and Passion have been in the million sales club for years now. For FY 2015, Hero Splendor sales stood at 2.5 million, while that of Hero Passion of stood at 1.5 million units. The newest member of the 1 million club, Hero HF Deluxe sales for the same period crossed 1 million.

Hero HF Deluxe has recorded sales of over 10.93 lakh units in FY ending March 31, 2015 as per data with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). With increased demand in rural areas despite slowdown in rural economy, this sturdy and fuel efficient bike has seen a 5% increase in growth.

HF Deluxe is offered with customized options with drum brakes as standard while buyers can opt for spoke or alloy wheels with thumb start or kick start. Engine specifications are same as Splendor and Passion – a 97.2cc, four stroke, single cylinder engine offering 8.2 bhp power at 8,000 rpm and 0.82 kgm torque at 5,000 rpm mated to a 4 speed gearbox. Prices of HF Deluxe start from INR 43,000.

There is also a green coloured Hero HF Deluxe ECO on offer, which is priced at INR 46,150. HF Deluxe ECO version is powered by the same engine as seen on its HF Deluxe counterpart with suspension conducted via telescopic forks in front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. The ECO version gets 130mm drum brakes in front and 110mm drum brakes at the rear.

With every second bike sold in this segment being a Hero HF Deluxe, the company owes increased sales to its sharp positioning and outstanding performance while the tagline ‘Naye Indian ki Deluxe Bike’ has also appealed to buyers in both urban and rural areas.
