Hero Xtreme 200R has been launched in India. Price starts from Rs 88,000, ex-showroom Assam, making the motorcycle cheapest in the segment. For comparison, TVS Apache 200 retails at Rs 1.03 lakh while Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 retails at Rs 1.01 lakh, ex-showroom, Assam.
In fact, the price of Hero Xtreme 200R is more closer to the prices of motorcycles which are sold in a segment below, like the TVS Apache 160, Bajaj Pulsar 160 and so on. In addition to that, Hero is also giving a helmet, a leather riding jacket and a laptop bag along with the bike.
Hero Xtreme 200R is built on reworked platform of the CBZ Xtreme. It is offered in two variants – STD and ABS. it will sport a new halogen LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, sculpted fuel tank and new alloy wheels. It also gets an instrument cluster with analog tachometer and digital display.
New Xtreme 200R is powered by a 200cc engine offering 18 bhp power and 17 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed transmission. Similar in stance to the Xtreme Sport, the naked bike comes with a diamond frame resulting in better agility and a lighter weight.
Acceleration from 0 to 60 kmph is achieved in 4.6 seconds while top speed is at 118 kmph. It gets disc brakes at both ends and comes in with an ABS system. The bike measures 2,062 mm in length, 1,072 mm in height and gets ground clearance of167 mm and seat height at 790 mm.
The Xtreme 200R weighs a total of 147 Kg. It competes against the likes of Apache RTR 2004V, Pulsar NS200 in India.
