Hero Xtreme Sports variant to launch in Nepal this month
Hero MotoCorp showcased the new Xtreme Sports model at Nepal Auto Show 2014 (NADA) last year to gauge public response. According to Himalayan Times, the 150 cc motorcycle is good for launch this month.
Hero Xtreme Sports is powered by a 149.2 cc four-stroke, single-cylinder, OHC based, air-cooled engine, tuned to produce one bhp higher power than regular Xtreme variant. Max power is rated at 15.2 bhp @ 8,500 rpm, while peak torque remains same at 12.8 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to same 5-speed gearbox.
The bike measures 2,100 mm x 780 mm x 1,080 mm (Length x Width x Height) and weighs 139 kg. Hero Xtreme Sports is equipped with 240 mm disc brake upfront as standard and 220 mm disc brake at the rear as a paid option. Model with rear disc brake weighs 148 kg.
In terms of cosmetics, new Hero Xtreme Sports gets new bikini fairing, revamped head lamp unit with integrated set of LED pilot lights, new digital instrument panel, sharp body graphics, ‘Sports’ badging on both sides of fuel tank extensions, new body coloured engine cowl (belly pan), split seats and stylish exhaust pipe.
Hero Xtreme Sports will compete with Bajaj Pulsar 150 in Nepal.
