At the time of unveil, Hero Xtreme Sports power was rated at 15.2 hp. But, now official brochure reveals a pumped up figure.
New Hero Xtreme Sports has already been unveiled at important markets and auto shows. In India, Hero Xtreme Sports was premiered in January 2014, followed by exhibitions in Nepal and Sri Lanka. The bike made presence even in 2014 EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) which is also known as Milan Motorcycle Show in Italy.
After so long, Hero MotoCorp has updated their product portfolio in their website, with brochure and specifications of the new variant of Hero Xtreme. Apparently, the peak torque figure is higher than that in older version, and the company made no notice of this during the unveiling ceremony.
As per this new official info, Hero Xtreme Sports power output remain same is increased by 1 bhp. Same 149.2 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine now produces 15.2 bhp @ 8,500 rpm and 13.50 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. Fuel is supplied via carburettor and transmission is done using 5-speed gearbox. Apart from this, significant improvement in new Hero Xtreme Sports is only on styling front.
Launch of Hero Xtreme Sports is expected to take place in the coming weeks. Once launched it will compete with the likes of new Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha Ver 2.0 Fazer and FZ-S. Apart from new Xtreme, Hero has plans to launch a dozen new bikes and scooters (including new variants) in 2015.
