HMSI growth in India has been driven largely by Activa and CB Shine 125 cc motorcycle. Both two wheelers lead sales volumes in their respective segments. Honda consolidates market share to highest ever at 28.4 pct and a growth of 23 pct.
To serve customers more efficiently, and further strengthen its 55 pct market share in India, the fastest growing automatic scooter bike market, Honda had announced a fourth plant at Vithalapur, in Ahmedabad. Spread over 80 acres, Vithalapur plant will has an annual production capacity of 1.2 million units. HMSI will soon be capable of annual production capacity of 5.8 million units.
