Honda Activa 5G showcased at 2018 Auto Expo – Launch soon

Honda Two Wheelers has showcased the new Activa 5G at the ongoing Auto Expo. The new generation Activa gets updated features with a redesigned semi digital instrument cluster with digital analog console, metal muffler protector, mobile charger, 4-in-1 lock opener, retractable rear hook, LED head and tail lamps and a multi-function key slot.

Along with the latest gen Activa, Honda has also showcased the previous three generations as well as the current generation of Activa. All five generations are on display along side at the Honda Two Wheeler stall.

Speaking about the new Honda Activa 5G and its new features, its semi digital instrument console shows off ECO options and service due indicator. It also gets two new color options of Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red and extensive use of chrome is seen throughout its makeup. Suspension sees no change on the new 5G model while braking is via 130mm drum brakes on both wheels with Honda Combi Brake set up as standard for enhanced safety and optimum braking. It sits on 10” wheels fitted with 90/100 tyres. The Honda 5G receives no changes dimensionally and gets a fuel tank of 5.3 liter capacity.

Engine specifications on the Honda Activa 5G will continue with the same BSIV compliant 109cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine as seen on its predecessor. This engine will be capable of offering 8 PS peak power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm mated to a CVT transmission.

Set to come in at a higher price than its current counterpart, Honda Activa 5G could be priced between INR 52,000-54,000. It will compete with other 110cc scooters such as the TVS Jupiter, Yamaha Ray Z and Hero Maestro Edge on launch in the country. More details when it is officially launched later this year.
