Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have officially launched the new Activa 125 BS6 in India. It is the company’s first offering to comply with the Bharat State VI emission standards which will come into effect from 1st April 2020.
Honda Activa 125 BS VI comes in 3 variants, Standard, Alloy & Deluxe. The Standard variant is priced at Rs.67,490, the Activa 125 with alloy wheels is priced at Rs.70,990 and Activa 125 Deluxe is priced at Rs.74,990. All prices are ex-sh. Colour options include Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Heavy Grey Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Pearl Precious White and Majestic Brown Metallic.
Along with update to BS6, the Honda Active 125 also gets a series of other revisions in terms of features, styling, engine and safety. The fact that is also more eco friendly cannot be ignored with the Activa 125 bringing in a greener ‘#AQuietRevolution’. In terms of features, Honda Activa 125 BS6 FI gets a range of chrome accents seen all across its body. These extend from the front apron with a front chrome chest and side panels to grab handles at the rear with chrome embossed Activa 125 logo on the tail lamp. It also receives a new LED headlamp, position lamp and new tail lamp, a multifunction ignition key, remote seat hatch and remote fuel lid operation.
It also gets an all new instrument panel with a part analog and part digital panel offering readings such as fuel consumption, distance to empty, side stand indicator etc. A notable feature is that the side stand indicator acts as an engine inhibitor not allowing the engine to start if the stand is not in position.
The new Activa BS VI will also gain in dimensions as compared to its BS IV counterpart. It now measures 1,850mm in length, 707mm in width and 1,170mm in height. It gets a wheelbase of 1,260mm. HMSI is also offering a special 6 year warranty pack which includes 3 years standard warranty and 3 years of optional extended warranty with the new Activa 125.
Honda Activa 125 BS VI gets its power via a 124cc, fuel injected, PGM-FI engine with ESP – Enhanced Smart Power. This engine offers 8.1 bhp power at 6,500 rpm at 10.3 Nm torque at 5,000 rpm, offering 13% more mileage as compared to its BS IV model with eco-friendly technology and features. The use of lighter components also ensures that the engine offers less friction while the new Activa also gets Honda Eco Technology and a patented ACG – noiseless alternate current generator.
