At the press conference in Delhi, Honda said, Amaze has been specifically developed for India, and first to be built keeping in mind Indian buyers needs as the core. Honda believes when people drive the new Honda Amaze they will know it was worth the wait, and be truly Amaze’d.
In petrol, Honda will offer the Amaze in six options, Amaze E – INR 4.99 lakhs, Amaze EX – 5.24 lakhs, Amaze S – INR 5.62 lakhs, Amaze VX – INR 6.60 lakhs, Amaze SAT – INR 6.62 lakhs, and Amaze VXAT – INR 7.50 lakhs. For the Amaze diesel, there will be four options, Amaze E – INR 5.99 lakhs, Amaze EX – INR 6.24 lakhs, Amaze S – INR 6.67 lakhs, and Amaze VX – INR 7.60 lakhs. So in all 10 variants of Amaze are on offer. The ABS will only be offered on the top four variants in petrol and top 2 variants of diesel.
Honda Amaze order books are already open. Interested customers need to call local Honda dealer for test drive and on-road price. The Honda Amaze diesel sedan will help the company move forth with exponential growth in India. With the launch of the Amaze diesel, the company will welcome a new set of customers to the brand. 63% customers will come from tier II and tier III cities.
Their new offensive strategy with Amaze diesel will see them penetrate the Indian market in a larger manner through dealer network expansion with 162 dealerships that cater to a larger number of cities. For cities where Honda still has no presence, it’s their service camps that will step in.

Speaking about the performance and mileage, Honda says, the Amaze petrol will be offered in 1.2L i-VTEC generating 88 PS power and 109 Nm torque while the Amaze diesel 1.5L i-DTEC will deliver 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Amaze petrol AT will deliver 18 kmpl for manual transmission, and 15.5 kmpl for automatic transmission. Amaze diesel will be the most fuel efficient car in India with mileage of 25.8 kmpl.
Speaking on the development of their new diesel engine, Honda says, that it is based on the EarthDreams technology’s 1.6L engine which is on offer in Europe. For India, they needed to develop a more efficient engine. So, work began on the 1.5L i-DTEC engine. Pointers to be noted for the new Honda diesel engine include, Strong and light engine block that’s pivotal to comfortable handling. It uses a solenoid fuel injector. The compact water pump reduces friction, thereby improving engine fuel efficiency. Lightest in its torque producing class. Honda also has developed a new oil for their diesel engine.
