Honda Amaze sedan revealed: Launch today in Thailand (New ad)
Honda Brio Amaze is set to enter Thailand later today. First pictures of the upcoming model are revealed, where it can be seen that the new sedan is entirely based on Brio hatchback but with a number of innovative updates. Honda Brio Amaze will be seen with a new front grille, new alloy wheels, a more pronounced rear door and additional boot space.
Interiors will include fresh fabric upholstery but that is about all the changes one can expect as the company is concentrating on keeping prices competitive as it competes with other sub 4 meter sedans in India such as the Maruti Dzire, Toyota Etios, Tata Indigo CS and upcoming Mahindra Verito CS. Honda Brio Amaze is expected to be powered by the same 1.2 liter iVTEC petrol engine seen in the Jazz and Brio, so as to take advantage of further tax gains though power ratings will be more enhanced.
Its diesel counterpart will be a 1.5L unit, downtuned version of 1.6 liter Earth Dreams power unit that is currently seen on the Honda Civic in Europe. Here cubic capacity will be brought down to 1.5 liter to benefit from tax regulations prevalent in India. Honda Brio Amaze sedan is going to be launched in Thailand today in four trims – Brio Amaze S Manual, S Automatic, V Manual and V Automatic with prices ranging from INR .8.2 lakhs to INR 9.4 lakhs.
