Honda Asia Dream Cup 2015 Indian racing contingent sees 3 racers from Chennai: Sarath Kumar, Hari Krishnan Rajagopalan, and S Rajiv.
The three riders were selected based on their performance at 2014 Honda One Make Race Championship. Over the weekend, Sarath secured 8 points over two rounds and set his best lap at 1:20:768. Race 1 saw him finish in 10th place. 24 year old Sarath is a two-time Honda One Make Race Champion (2014 and 2013), and the first Indian rider to participate in 125GP and Moto-3 CEV Championship.
Hari Krishnan and Rajiv S made their ADC debut. Hari Krishnan, 21 finished both races and secured 6 points. 17 year old Rajiv was faced with a steep 14 lap learning curve.
Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. says the two wheeler manufacturer is rooting for podium wins by the Indian racers. Honda two wheelers is keen about nurturing motorsport in India, and has handpicked the best talent from its Honda One Make Race platform to help them grow, and hopefully represent India in Moto3 and Moto GP championships.
Following Round 1 of Honda Asia Dream Cup 2015, racers now head to Sentul International Asian MotoGP circuit in Indonesia for Round 2 (4-7 June, 2015). 19 riders of 10 Asian countries are competing in the 6 round Honda Asia Dream Cup 2015. Those who finish in top 8, get chance to participate in Moto 3 qualifying.
