The Honda Avancier premium mid-size SUV, which was previewed by the Concept D at last year’s Shanghai Auto Show, has made its global debut at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. The designers have managed to make the concept look much better than the concept which polarized opinions.
The name Avancier was used by a five-seat JDM wagon which was in existence between 1999 and 2003. The 2016 Avancier, however, is a premium SUV which will be positioned above the CR-V. The crossover sports a familiar bold chrome grille which is flanked by sleek LED headlamps with a subtle blue tint. Silver skid plate and LED foglights round off the front end design.
The production model ditches the concept’s overtly dramatic sheet metal design in favour of a tight skinned appeal. The busy looking rear bumper too has been replaced by a simpler unit with twin exhaust tips and a silver diffuser.
The interior too adopts a simple approach with an elevated centre console, touchscreen infotainment system and an all black color theme with wooden trims. Equipment list is yet to be revealed.

The Honda Avancier is the first vehicle to feature the Japanese automaker’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in China. The technical specifications are kept under wraps as of now and are likely to be released when the vehicle is ready to hit the market (end of 2016).
