Priced from IDR 230 million (about INR 10.91 lakhs), the new Honda BR-V seven seater has received over 2,500 bookings in 45 days, revealed the company in a release today. First unveiled at the 2015 Indonesia Motor Show, Honda BR-V will enter production at the Indonesian plant by February 2016, after which it will be launched in the country.
In Indonesia, Honda BR-V will be offered in a choice of three trims – 1.5 S, 1.5 E, and 1.5 Prestiege. All three variants are powered by the same engine – 1.5 liter petrol four cylinder generating 120 PS power and 145 Nm torque. This engine powers the front wheels (no AWD on offer) via either a 6 speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
Measuring 4455 x 1735 x 1650 (L x W x H – mm), Honda BR-V has a ground clearance of over 200 mm, and a wheelbase of 2660 mm. It gets decent 16 inch alloys wrapped around 195/60 rubber.
Expected to be launched in India later next year, features on board the Honda BR-V include projector headlamps, LED position headlight, 50:50 foldable 3rd row seat, 6 inch display screen with navigation, rear parking display, and audio controls.
Once launched in India, it will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, and Hyundai Creta. Along with the petrol 1.5 liter option, BR-V will also be offered with a 1.5 liter diesel engine option in India. We expect the price range to be in the INR 8.5 – 13 lakh bracket.
