Premiered at 2015 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show in August last year, and unveiled in India at 2016 Auto Expo in February, Honda BR-V will compete against Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
Being offered in 4 trim levels – E, S, V and VX, Honda BR-V is the first crossover in its class to offer three row of seating for up to 7 adults.
Engine options on the Honda BR-V include a 1.5-liter petrol engine capable of 117 bhp power and 145 Nm torque and 1.5-liter diesel engine capable of 98 bhp and 200 Nm torque. Both engines get mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while CVT is exclusively for petrol variant.
Set on the same platform as Brio, Amaze, and Mobilio, Honda BR-V features a sporty exterior. It measures 4,455mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,650mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,660mm while ground clearance stands at 201mm. Design elements include a chrome grille, projector head lights, plastic body cladding on wheel arches and a meaty lower bumper.
With spacious interiors, Honda BR-V commands both comfort and occupant conveniences with features such as start/stop button, steering mounted controls, roof mounted air conditioning vents and automatic climate controls.
Where safety features are concerned, the Honda BR-V receives dual airbags, ABS, EBD, vehicle stability assist and hill start assist. Exterior colors on the Honda BR-V include White Orchid Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta White, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic.
