Honda City, Amaze, Jazz and WRV discount offers – June 2019

The automobile market scenario is tough and automakers have been noting decreasing sales over the past few months. In May 2019, Honda Cars India reported a 27.87 percent decline in domestic sales to 11,442 units as compared to 15,864 units sold in May 2018.

Exports in the past month stood at 450 units. The company expects sales to revive especially with the new government now in place and predictions of a favourable monsoon. In the meantime, Honda Cars India is offering discounts and benefits on the Brio, Amaze, Jazz, WR-V, City, Civic and the BR-V through the month of June 2019.

Honda Amaze – Discounts and benefits upto Rs.42,000 are being offered at Hyundai dealers for the second generation Honda Amaze compact sedan which was launched last year. The Amaze competes with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo and gets powered via a 1.2 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel mated to a 5 speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.

Honda Amaze discounts

Honda Jazz – Discounts extend to Rs.55,000 on this premium hatchback which gets powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine offering 90 hp power and a 1.5 liter diesel engine capable of 100 hp peak power. The Honda Jazz competes with the recently launched Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20.

Honda BR-V – This 7 seater SUV is being presented at a discount upto Rs.1.15 lakhs which includes free insurance, exchange bonus and accessories through the month of June. The Honda BR-V gets powered via a 1.5 litre petrol engine offering 119 hp power and a 1.5 liter diesel engine offering 100 hp power mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox while the petrol engine also gets a CVT automatic as an option. The Honda BR-V competes against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Mahindra Marazzo.

Honda City – Discounts upto Rs.62,000 are being extended to buyers of this mid size sedan which includes insurance and exchange bonus. The Honda City is priced between Rs.9.72 -14.07 lakhs and gets powered via a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 119 hp power and a 1.5 liter diesel engine capable of 100 hp power mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic for the petrol variant. The Honda City competes with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Verna. The company has also announced that the Honda City is soon to see an update with new safety norms coming into effect shortly.

2019 Honda City update

Honda WR-V – Buyers of this cross hatchback can avail of benefits and discounts upto Rs.45,000 via company dealerships. This Honda WR-V, which is based on the Honda Jazz gets its power via the same engines powering the Jazz though the engine only get mated to a 6 speed manual and not to a CVT automatic gearbox as is the case on the Jazz. The Honda WR-V competes with the Hyundai i20 Active.

Honda Civic – This premium sedan which made its way back into markets after 7 years, competes against the Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and the Toyota Corolla Altis. It is being offered at discounts and exchange benefits upto Rs. 30,000. The Honda Civic gets powered via a 1.8 liter petrol engine offering 141 hp power and mated to a 7 step CVT and a 1.6 liter diesel engine capable of 120 hp power mated to a 6 speed manual.

Honda Brio – Though now discontinued from the company lineup in India, stocks are still present at company showrooms. To clear out these stocks, dealerships are offering discounts upto Rs.24,000 on the Brio. This hatchback is powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine offering 88 hp power mated to a 5 speed manual and 5 sped torque converter automatic gearbox. Updating this hatchback to comply with new safety norms proves unpractical and is the reason why it has been discontinued.
