In view of the current situation in the country, the company has also introduced the online sales platform called ‘Honda from Home’. This has been done to support contactless transactions and to follow social distancing norms as per the Government of India orders. Thanks to this new initiative, buyers can buy a Honda car from the comfort of their home, without stepping into the dealership.
The online booking portal “Honda from Home” can be accessed from any location. Though currently offered at select dealerships, it will soon integrate Honda’s entire dealer network in India. Customers can go through the entire portfolio and cab book their vehicle via select dealership and make online payments with request for home deliveries once all formalities have been completed.
Once the lockdown ends, Honda will launch the next gen City in India. It was slated to be launched in April 2020 but plans have been put on hold due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The fifth gen Honda City will get several feature updates and larger dimensions. It will be offered with two engine options. The 1.5 liter petrol engine will offer 120bhp and 150Nm of torque while the 1.5 liter diesel engine will make 100bhp and 200Nm of torque.
The new Honda City will be sold alongside the current model. The older model will however be cheaper and offered both the private and fleet operators while the new gen City will be more expensive, and will only be sold to private buyers.
