To cater to evolving customer preferences, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has now introduced car leasing services in association with Orix. The arrangement makes available leasing options for Honda CR-V, Honda Civic and Honda City for both, corporate and individual customers, self-employed professionals, businessmen, and salaried individuals.

Creating new channels to reach out to customers is soon becoming a norm in the automotive industry. The days of securing sales through dedicated dealerships is being rethought, and creating new business opportunities is one such alternative.

Leasing a vehicle as against full ownership of a vehicle has been brought to the table, and is now a fully supported choice that a number of manufacturers are offering to its potential customer pool.

Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Car leasing offers convenience, access to latest vehicles and enables customers to enjoy the perks of using car without having to purchase it. Car leasing is gaining popularity in India and we are delighted to associate with Orix to offer tailor-made solutions for anyone who wants to enjoy benefits of modern ownership experience. In addition to corporate customers, the programme has been specially rolled out for individual customers as well.”

Leasing includes comprehensive insurance plans, maintenance packages, tax management, and curated rentals as per requirement. Indian automobile industry has posted sales decline for 9 consecutive months now, and there’s no positive forecast for the months to come. While one could be hopeful about the current months, optimism shouldn’t outweigh reality. With festivities knocking, this is historically a period of sales boost but that pattern may not culminate to reality this year.

Honda cars sales more than halved in August 2018. Sales decline is reported at 51.28 percent, down to 8,291 units, from domestic sales of 17,020 units in August 2018.

The leasing partnership is expected to help more people access Honda cars through innovative and curated lease options. Orix looks forward to further strengthening its portfolio with the inclusion of more HCIL products in the future. Currently Honda Amaze, entry level sedan is the company’s bestseller, and quite expectedly, doesn’t feature as a lease option.
