Honda Cars India reports 67% sales growth in 2014
HCIL reports highest ever domestic sales at 179,816 units between Jan – December 2014 to report overall growth of 67% over 107,661 units sold during Jan – December 2013. Honda India sold 131,133 units in the current fiscal during April – December 2014 to report cumulative growth of 53% over 85,656 units sold in April – December 2013.
Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. says 2014 has been a successful year for HCIL business in terms of highest ever domestic sales on the back of 2 launches, Honda City and Mobilio. Honda is concentrated on dealer network expansion in Tier III markets to boost sales growth.
Model wise sales break-up for December 2014 compared to Dec 2013 stands as follows: 1120 Brio units over 1026 units, 5176 Amaze units over 4458 units, Mobilio 2098 units, 6012 City units, 22 CR-V units over 9 units. Domestic sales stands at 14428 units over 5493 units. Exports stood at
620 units over 6 units. Overall sales stand at 15048 units over 5499 units equating to 173% sales increase.
