Honda Cars May 2015 sales report: New Jazz (Driven) TVC revealed

Honda City sedan continued to rule the list of Honda models sold during May 2015. 7,562 units of Honda City were sold during the month while 3,699 units of Amaze were sold.

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) reported an almost flat growth during May 2015. The company’s domestic sales amounted to 13,431 units as compared to 13,362 units in May 2014. Exports stood at 655 units taking total sales during May 2015 to 14,086 units, a 1 percent increase over sales in the same period of the previous year.

Out of total sales, it was the Honda City that ruled with 7,562 units sold followed by Amaze with 3,699 units sold. The company also sold 1,249 units of Mobilio, 873 units of Brio and 48 units of Honda CR-V. Total exports during the past month stood at 655 units which are expected to increase once the Honda Jazz is launched.

HCIL’s product range currently includes Brio, Amaze, Mobilio, City and Honda CR-V. Each of these products display advanced design and technology with fuel efficient engines. The company has established a total of 232 sales and service networks across 152 cities in the country.

Its production plant in Greater Noida has the capacity to produce 120,000 units per annum while its Tapukara plant can roll out an equal number of units per annum. HCIL has further plans of investing INR 380 crores into the Tapukara plant to take total production upto 180,000 units per annum.

This will help the company meet growing demand, especially after the launch of their premium hatchback, Jazz. New Honda Jazz launch is expected to take place on the 8th of July 2015. To be offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine option, it will be competitively priced to rival Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
