Design

The Shine SP 125 features a fresh bikini fairing with wider panels, a new edgy headlamp and a shield-shaped visor. The fuel tank looks pretty similar to that of the regular Shine 125 but gets fresh decals. Other noteworthy styling elements of the new motorcycle are silver side cowls, black grab rail, 5-twin spoke alloy wheels, red finished rear coil springs and black color theme for the fork, engine and exhaust (with chrome garnish on the muffler guard).

Dimensions

The Shine SP takes up the place vacated by the semi-faired Stunner.

The motorcycle measures 2,007 mm in length, 762 mm in width, 1,085 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,266 mm. Ground clearance and fuel tank capacity stand at 160 mm and 10.5 litre respectively. The Shine SP has a kerb weight of 124 kg (CBS variant).

Engine and Gearbox

Powering the new Honda Shine SP 125 is the familiar 124.73 cc single-cylinder air-cooled 4-stroke engine that is found on the ordinary Shine but it benefits from a 5-speed gearbox (shifts in 1-down-4-up pattern). The motor puts out 10.57 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.

Technical Specifications

Frame, Suspension, Tyres and Brakes

No surprises here as the latest Honda continues to be underpinned by the time proven steel diamond frame chassis which is suspended by a telescopic fork upfront and twin coil spring shock absorbers at the rear.

The top-end variant gets CBS (Combi Braking System).

The 18-inch alloy wheels come shod with 80/100-18 tubeless rubbers at both ends. The top-end variant employs front disc and rear drum brakes with Combi Braking System (CBS) while the base model makes do with drum brakes at both wheels.

Features

The premium 125 cc commuter bike is equipped with a digi analog instrument cluster with an analog speedometer and amber backlit display for odometer, trip meter and fuel gauge. Apart from CBS and tubeless tyres, the Shine SP also offers a viscous air filter and electric starter.

Colors

The Honda Shine SP 125 is offered in five colors namely Black, Athletic Blue Metallic, Geny Grey Metallic, Pearl Amazing White and Rebel Red Metallic.
