Honda CB300R comes with a design inspired by the Honda Neo Sports Cafe concept. It is brought into the country via a completely knocked down (CKD) route. It is being retailed via the 22 Honda Wing World showrooms.
Bookings for the new Honda CB300R, which had opened earlier in January, noted decent response. So far, Honda has received 400 bookings for the CB300R. At the time of launch, Honda said that deliveries will commence by end of March 2019. And because they have limited production capacity, their order books are full for first three months.
Honda CB300R is built on a tubular and pressed steel framework, making it the lightest motorcycle in the 200-500cc segment. Presented in color options of Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red, the Honda CB300R gets onboard features among which are an LED headlamp, signature horse shoe shaped light guide for better visibility, a sculpted fuel tank, comfortable seat design and an LCD instrument panel designed for better visibility even under direct sunlight.
For a better riding stance, the handlebars are tapered while with 40 degree turning angle, quick response is enhanced. The Honda CB300R also gets IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) based dual-channel ABS, Peak Hold Function for better performance while wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Street radial tyres as against Dunlop radial units seen on its international spec model.
In terms of dimensions, the Honda CB300R stands 2,012mm in length, 802mm in width and 1,052mm in height while wheelbase measures 1,352mm. Seat height is at 799mm while ground clearance is at 151 mm. Kerb weight is at 143 kgs.
Honda CB300R sits on 17” at the front and rear fitted with 110/70R 17 M/C 54 H tyre and 150/60R 17M/C 64 H respectively. Suspension is via 41mm upside down forks in front and monoshock at the rear with 7 step preload adjustability while braking is via 296 mm floating disc in the front and 20mm disc with single piston caliper at the rear.
New CB300R is powered by a 286cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine capable of 30.9 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 27 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox. Honda CB300R competes with the BMW G310R, KTM 390 Duke, Bajaj Dominar 400, Kawasaki Ninja 300 along with the RE Interceptor 650 and Jawa bikes which are in a similar price range.
