Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced the CB300R streetfighter for launch in India. Honda CB300R will not be on sale via all Honda dealerships in the country, but exclusively through 22 Honda Wing World outlets, the list of which is appended herewith.
Honda CB300R is powered by a 286cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder engine offering 30.9 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 27.5 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
In terms of features, Honda CB300R design is inspired by the neo retro styled Honda CB1000R. It gets LED lighting with two bars of LED lamps on its rounded headlamp console, fully digital backlit TFT instrument cluster which has readouts for speed, engine rpm, fuel level and gear position, a fuel tank of 10 liter capacity and kerb weight of 143 kgs.
Seat height is at 799mm while ground clearance is at 151mm. Though the CB300R receives Dunlop tyres in global markets, the India spec model will get MRF tyres so as to keep price at affordable levels. The 17” wheels will be fitted with 110/70R17M/C 54H front tyres and150/60R17M/C 65H tyres at the rear. Available in two color options of Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Axis Grey, the CB300R is open for bookings via these outlets at a token amount of Rs.5,000.
New CB300R gets 296mm petal disc brake in the front with 4 piston calipers and 220mm disc at the rear with 2 piston caliper. Its rear monoshock gets 7 step adjustability with 41mm USD in front with 5 step adjustability for preload. Fuel efficiency stands at 30 kmpl. Dual channel ABS will be offered as standard.
Honda CB300R will face competition from the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM Duke 250, Duke 390 and also from the BMW G310R. Launch date is 8th Feb, 2019. Deliveries will start from same date.
