Honda CBR250R Repsol Racing Edition launched – No CBR250RR for India

When most of the world is getting ready to buy the new Honda CBR250RR, buyers in India have no choice but to contend with yet another edition of CBR250R.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today announced the launch of yet another special edition of their 250 cc bike, the CBR250R. The official statement reads – “Honda Unveils the New CBR 250R”. Well the only new part in this motorcycle is new livery.

The ‘New’ Honda CBR250R is being promoted as ‘The Repsol Honda Racing Replica Limited Edition’. As you can see in the image above, the old bike will be sold as new in two trims – Marc Márquez 93 and Dani Pedrosa 26. This new edition is celebrating Honda’s success at the MotoGP 2016 season.

Honda adds – “Inspired by the legendary RC213V itself the new ‘Racing Replica Limited Edition’ sports an all new paint scheme with MotoGP graphics signifying the legacy of Marc Márquez(93) and Dani Pedrosa(26).” It is surprising that Honda is not launching the all-new CBR250RR in India, instead giving their buyers here the same old motorcycle again and again with new paint jobs.

Special edition Honda CBR250R will come in with the the same 250cc single cylinder engine offering peak power of 29 HP and peak torque of 22.9 Nm. Apart from the Repsol livery, there is no change in the bike.
