Honda CBR250RR top speed improved by TricStar Racing – Video

Honda CBR250RR is the new quarter-liter, twin cylinder sportsbike that has been launched in Indonesia. It retails at IDR 70 million (INR 3.2 lakhs) and rivals the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R25 and KTM RC 390 in international markets. Sadly, Honda has confirmed that the bike will not be launched in India, despite of requests from fans and probable owners.

Boasting of fuel tank capacity of 14.5 liters, the Honda CBR250RR gets a new 249.7 cc liquid cooled, fuel injected, twin cylinder engine. This engine is rated to deliver peak power of 28.5 kW (38,7PS) @ 12,500 rpm and peak torque of 23.3 Nm (2.4 kgf.m) @ 11,000 rpm. It gets ride by wire technology allowing riders to select between three modes – Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

A few months ago, folks at otomotifnet managed to get their hands on the new Honda CBR250RR and do a top speed of 179 kmph. This was a stock motorcycle. The rider also added that the bike was being ridden in the Sport+ mode. This makes the new Honda quarter liter faster than the quarter liter rival from Yamaha, the R25. But guess what, the new CBR250RR has gone even faster, and touched a speedo indicated 185 kmph.

TricStar Racing managed to test the Honda CBR250RR fitted with Ikazuchi TricStar exhaust system. This improved the performance of the bike and managed to do a top speed of 185 kmph.

To break down, the tester reveals that the CBR250RR does 68 kmph in first gear when it touches the rev limiter, which is set at 14,400 rpm. The second gear does 89 kmph, third does 121 kmph, fourth does 148 kmph, fifth does 170 kmph, and sixth does 185 kmph. Interestingly, top speed of single cylinder KTM RC 390 is at 180 kmph. But in Indonesia, where the CBR 250RR is on sale, the RC 390 is not on offer. Here it rivals the Yamaha R25 and the KTM RC 250.
