Designed for affordability and adventure, the Honda CBR500R is currently produced from the company plant in Thailand, while, once launched in India, production of the new bike at the Honda plant in the country is not ruled out.
Honda CBR500R will come in with a 470cc 8 valve, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine mated to a 6 speed manual and offering 46.9bhp power and 30 lb/ft torque. Weight stands at 193 kgs while it sits on a wheelbase measuring 1410mm. Top speed is pegged at 105 mph while the sporty and aggressive looking bike will be offered in colors of Black, Pearl White/Blue/Red and Red. The upcoming CBR500R can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 kmph.
Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India plans an extensive lineup of sports bikes and scooters at the Auto Expo. Besides the CBR500R, the company will also display CBR650F and PCX 125 scooter. RC213V model that Marc Marquez rode to break a record of 30 years to become the world’s youngest Moto GP champion will also be on display while brand ambassador Akshay Kumar will be in attendance at the event.
