Honda City, Amaze, Jazz, WRV – Prices to be increased by upto Rs 35,000

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced a price hike across its model range. Depending on car and segment, the price revision will range from Rs 10,000 – Rs 35,000. Honda’s price hike comes into effect from 1 August 2018.

Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “Due to the increasing pressure on input costs, impact of custom duty hike over past few months and higher freight rates, we are forced to consider increasing the prices of our cars. The increased price will be effective from 1 August 2018.”

“The introductory price of the recently launched All New Amaze will also be revised from August,” he added.

This month, the company will launch it’s 2018 Honda Jazz facelift. New generation Honda Jazz was launched in India around 3 years ago. The hatchbach has already been launched overseas, and is introduced with minimal exterior and interior changes. Feature updates include a revised front, new touchscreen system, and 16″ alloy wheels. Honda Jazz rivals Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 in the mid-sized hatchback segment.

HCIL showcased the 2018 Honda Civic, and CRV at Auto Expo earlier this year. 10th gen Honda Civic and 5th gen Honda CR-V, both will be launched in India and introduced as CKD units. CR-V, which when first introduced in India proved to be quite a showstopper, but Honda eventually decided to plug sales. In its new avatar, CR-V is positioned on Honda’s global compact platform that also caters to 2018 Accord.

Based on vehicles Honda is selling in India currently, sales have been robust in June 2018 with the company reporting 37 percent growth. Launch of new gen Honda Amaze has helped the company bolster sales volume with a high number of bookings being delivered promptly.
