Honda City hatchback revealed ahead of 2016 Chengdu Motor Show

The new Honda City hatchback will make its official entry into the Chengdu Motor Show.

Honda Gienia (Honda City hatchback) is set for sale in China by mid October. First series of photos emerge which show off the new hatchback with distinctive Honda signature styling while it is partly inspired by the Concept B showcased in 2014.

Images reveal Honda Solid Wing Face design as is also seen on the Avancier SUV. Honda City hatchback gets a new front gloss black grille with distinctive Honda logo, chrome strip and headlights with projector units as is also seen on the Honda City sedan on sale in India.

Honda City hatchback receives a truncated boot design, boomerang shaped tail lamps and a well sculpted bumper with chrome accents and new rear spoiler.

The five door hatchback measures 4,517 mm in length, 1,705 mm in width and 1,477 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Interiors of the Honda City hatchback have not been revealed yet, you can expect it to be similar to the City. Powertrain options have also not been made official as on date but could include a 131 hp 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission or CVT gearbox.

The upcoming Honda City hatchback will be produced and sold by Dongfeng-Honda in China which is also responsible for the sale of the Griez. Pricing of Honda City hatchback is expected from around ¥90,000 (INR 8,96,600). Honda is set to introduce the City hatchback in China later next month.
