Honda City Hybrid sedan announced for Japan

Japan will get the new Honda City on 1st December, where it will be known as Honda Grace. Pretty much like the one which made its global premier in India about a year ago, the new Honda City Hybrid variant will be exclusive for Japan. There are no plans to launch it anywhere else as of now, considering the high demand for hybrid vehicles in the country.

Honda is yet to reveal engine details on-board the new City hybrid, but it is safe to expect a similar configuration which is seen on the new Vezel Hybrid. In the Vezel Hybrid, Honda offers a 1.5l direct injection petrol motor along with a high output electric motor, which is rated at 132 PS. The engine will be mated to a i-DCD dual clutch transmission.

Apart from this, Honda City Hybrid will also get a 4 wheel drive option in addition to front wheel drive, which is offered as standard. Top of the line variant will also get LED head lights and tail lights. Exterior changes when compared to the Indian Honda City, are seen in the front where a this chrome strip is added below the fat chrome strip, and revised bumper.

Inside the new City Hybrid, there aren’t many changes, except for the new blue gear lever, revised instrument panel with digital display for rpm and engine temperature, and a green ECON button on the right. Apart from this, also on offer is all black interiors with silver accents on the door open knobs and arm rests.
