Honda City, Jazz, and Civic recalled in India to replace airbags

In the last six months, Honda Cars India have recalled over 3 lakh cars.

Mumbai: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced a voluntary recall to replace Driver Side Airbag inflators of 57,676 vehicles. The cars affected range from previous gen City, Jazz and Civic.

The announcement is part of Honda’s preventive global recall campaign pertaining to Air Bag inflators. The free of charge replacement will be effected through HCIL dealerships pan India in a phased manner, beginning this weekend onward( 20th February 2016).

Honda Cars India is communicating with customers directly in regards to the recall. Details of affected vehicles are as follows: 49,572 Honda City sedans manufactured between January 2012 – June 2013, 7,504 Jazz hatchbacks manufactured between February 2012 – February 2013, and 600 Civic sedan units manufactured between January 2012 – August 2012, taking the total number of recalled cars to 57,676 units.

Honda India customers can check if their car is covered under this campaign by entering the 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite created on the Honda website.
